A SOULFUL CONVERSATION WITH...CHAZZ DIXON (recorded June 9, 2012)
In 2004, when I relocated from New York City to Northwest Wisconsin (long story...), I had the honor to meet Milwaukee-based singer/songwriter/record executive CHAZZ DIXON thanks to the Soulful Detroit website. A longtime music man in the land of Brewers and beer, Chazz was also the VP of Da Soul Recordings, a label that released the finest "grown folks" soul music. Throughout the years, Chazz released some fine albums such as "Crackin'", "Hitsville - The House That Berry Built" (Motown tribute disc), "A Time For Crying", "Love Notes" and "Swagga - The Ol' Skool Party". A serious car accident almost sidelined Chazz but he healed and continues to make music. In addition, Chazz also has an acting career that keeps him busy. He has a new album due this summer - "Emotional Therapy" - produced by his son, DJ Payday.
