 A SOULFUL CONVERSATION WITH ……AUDREY WHEELER

While her work as a session singer has indeed graced many recordings by several artists, AUDREY WHEELER cut two fine solo efforts in 1987 (“Let It Be Me”) and 1991 (“I’m Yours Tonight”) that earned a following among fans but didn’t translate into sales due to music biz politics.  Nonetheless, Audrey soldiered on and has developed a steady career touring as a backing vocalist for Chaka Khan.  Along the way, she married fellow singer Will Downing and is a proud parent of a daughter  KEVIN GOINS caught up with Audrey in between gigs with Chaka to talk about her work, life and how she met the man known to many as “WD Chocolate”.
